Sip, savor, and support ECR at their Annual Winter Wine and Brew Fest event on January 27th, 2024! Ellwood City Revitalization (ECR) is a non-profit organization that has dedicated more than $35,000 to improvement projects in downtown Ellwood City in the past 6 years. Featuring a diverse array of local winemakers and homebrewers, food from Mary Jo’s Catering, and Music by DJ Franco’s Karaoke and DJ Services, their annual Winter Wine and Brew Fest promises a fun and unique tasting experience. Paul Robert Zurynski passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at his residence with his loved ones steadfastly surrounding him. Paul was born on September 17, 1956, in Beaver Falls, PA to the late Paul and Jane (Watson) Zurynski. He graduated from Big Beaver Falls Area High School with the Class of 1974. He was a long-time member, and even an altar boy, at the former St. Teresa’s Roman Catholic Church in Koppel, PA (now a part of the Divine Grace Parish). Bruce L. Myers, 73

Bruce Myers, 73, of North Sewickley Township, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2024 in his residence surrounded by his family. Born in Ellwood City on December 5, 1950, Bruce was the son of the late Charles and Dorothy Zduniak Myers.  He married the former Kathryn Snider on June 21, 1975.  Bruce graduated from Lincoln High School in 1968. UPDATE (01/22/24): The Ellwood City boys basketball game against New Brighton that was postponed will be made up on January 31st  According to information made available by the school district, the Ellwood City boys basketball game scheduled at New Brighton Friday night has been postponed. No further information or reschedule date has been announced as of noon on Friday. Charles Robert “Bob” Lambert, 82, of Perry Township passed away at Cambridge Falls, Big Beaver Borough, on Thursday, January 18, 2024. Borough Offering Christmas Tree Disposal

According to information made available by the Borough of Ellwood City, residents may drop off live Christmas trees (decorations removed) at Stiefel Park now through January 31, 2024. The announcement was made at Monday’s regularly scheduled borough council meeting. Treecycling is a process that grinds old, unwanted live trees into other useful materials — mainly mulch. Since live trees are biodegradable, they can be safely composted, mulched or disposed of with other yard waste. Want to do it yourself? First Annual Shoaf’s Spaghetti Supper To Be Held

The first annual Shoaf’s Spaghetti Supper will be held on February 24, 2024 at Wurtemburg Presbyterian Church (291 Wurtemburg Road, Ellwood City PA 16117) from 5:00pm to 7:30pm in memory of our dear friend, Marc Shoaf. Camp Allegheny Received State Grant For Improvement Project

HARRISBURG – The Salvation Army Camp Allegheny was among those receiving state grants announced by Sen. Elder Vogel, Jr. (R-47) today.
