Louise E. Newman, 86, of North Sewickley Township passed away peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2024 at her home. Born September 13, 1937 in Ellwood City, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Ruth Hazen Lersch. Louise graduated from Lincoln High School in 1955, and then off to nursing school at St. Francis in New Castle. During her working career, she worked as a Registered Nurse at Jameson Hospital and Ellwood City Hospital. In addition, Louise was a maternity ward nurse at Mary Evans Hospital. Albert R. Seaburn II, 76, of Ellwood City passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at UPMC Mercy Hospital. Born in Pittsburgh on September 18, 1947, Albert was the son of the late Albert and Roma Menold Seaburn.  Albert is survived by his wife, the former Linda L. Carsele.  They were married on May 26, 1979.  Albert worked as a manager at Value King and Giant Eagle in Ellwood City and retired in 2007 from fleet service at US Airways.  He was an avid golfer and a longtime member of the Connoquenessing Country Club.  He also enjoyed playing tennis and…

Mrs. Marian Gib, 100, of Ellwood City passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 1st, 2024 at her residence. Marian was born on February 25th, 1923 in Aliquippa, Pa. She was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Vanga) Radut. To live to be 100 was something Marian was very proud of. Marian was married to George Gib Sr. on September 18th, 1949. Wolverines Wrestling Finishes 11th Overall At Buckeye Panther Classic

The Ellwood City wrestling team placed 11th overall recently at the Buckeye Local Panther Classic. The team was among 22 teams participating in the tournament at Buckeye Local High School in Ohio on Saturday, January 27th. Gavin McClure and Gabe Lilly each advanced to the championship finals in their respective weight classes to pace the Wolverines team efforts.
