ROUND-UP: EC Golf Remains Unbeaten, Volleyball Earns Two Victories

The Ellwood City boys golf team ran their unbeaten streak to ten games on Thursday with a 198-242 victory over Union at Delmar Golf Course.

Three Wolverines fired rounds in the 30’s in the victory – Jordan Keller led the charge with a 36 while Gino Biondi and Braden Roberts each chipped in with rounds of 39.

On Wednesday, the team earned a 206-215 victory over Wilmington.

Jordan Keller collected a low round score of 37 to lead the Wolverines. Andy Lin fired a round of 40. Wilmington had three golfers finish with rounds of 40 in defeat.

Ellwood City (10-0 Overall, 7-0 Section) next travel to face Shenango on Tuesday, September 3rd.

The Lady Wolverines volleyball team earned its first two victories of the season this week. First, and on Tuesday night, Ellwood City defeated Ambridge on the road 3-0. Ellwood City earned 25-27, 25-9, and 25-11 set victories.

The girls volleyball team easily outpaced Lincoln Park on Thursday, winning again in straight sets – 25-5, 25-4, and 25-8.

The girls volleyball team opened up its regular season on Monday, falling on the road against Blackhawk.

Ellwood City (2-1) overall next faces rival Riverside on September 3rd with a site to be determined. The match is scheduled for Ellwood City but the gymnasium is still under renovation so it may have to be moved.
