Riverside School District Kindergarten Orientation and ‘Meet The Teacher’ Planned For August 26th and 27th

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!

On August 16th, Riverside parents will receive an automated call and email with kindergarten teacher assignment. Teacher announcements will also go live on Skyward on August 16th for Riverside Elementary 1st and 2nd Grades.

Kindergarten Orientation will take place Monday, August, 26th. This event acclimates you and your child to our district;parents will be given valuable information, and your child will get to tour a bus, eat in the cafeteria,
and play on the playground. Kindergarten sessions are dependent upon the child’s last name as shown below; you must attend the session corresponding with last name due to very limited space.

• STUDENTS’ LAST NAMES STARTING WITH A – M
  12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m., Monday August 26th
• STUDENTS’ LAST NAMES STARTING WITH N – Z
  2:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m., Monday August 26th

Riverside Elementary 1st and 2nd Grade Meet The Teacher is schedule for Tuesday, August 27th. This event will provide an opportunity for students to find their classrooms and put faces to names of their teachers. Due to limited space, we respectfully request that you refrain from bringing additional family members if possible.

  N-Z 2:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M.

Meet The Teacher night for Riverside Grades 3-5 will take place Monday, August 26th. To ensure a smooth experience for grades 3-5, the district kindly requests parents adherence to the schedule below. To provide adequate space for all, please limit attendance to the parent/guardian and child. Understanding and cooperation are greatly appreciated. Please plan to park in the Main Parking Lot. Please arrive promptly at the time indicated below.

• All Grade 3 students:
  8:30 AM – 9:15 AM, Monday August 26th
• Grades 4 & 5 will be split alphabetically by the student’s last name.
  A-M 9:30 AM – 10:00 AM, Monday August 26th
  N-Z 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM, Monday August 26th

Upon arrival, please enter through the Elementary Library doors. You will then be directed to your child’s homeroom for a welcome and an opportunity to meet with your child’s teachers and learn about expectations for the
school year. If there is a conflict with your scheduled time, please contact Mrs. Dwyer, Principal @ ext. 3036.

Meet The Teacher night for Riverside Grades 6-8 will take place Tuesday, August 27th.

  Tuesday, August 27, 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM, MS Gym

Parents and students, your punctuality is essential. The district has a tight schedule to ensure every student gets to meet their teachers and familiarize themselves with their schedule and expectations for the school year. Arriving 10 minutes ahead of time will help us keep things running smoothly. To ensure everyone has a great experience, the district ask that only the student and their parent or guardian attend and that you stick to your designated time slot. This will help us manage the event efficiently and make it enjoyable. Please park in the Main Lot and enter through the MS Gym Doors.
