Winter sports have arrived in Ellwood City.
Basketball, Swimming, and Wrestling are among the popular sports for students at Lincoln High School. We caught up with the athletes of those teams to see what they are doing to prepare for the upcoming rivalries, to offer some perspective on the season ahead and their plans for the future. This is part one of a two part series featuring area senior student athletes in excel in winter sports.

What do you feel is your biggest strength? Defense

What has been your favorite memory been over the years? Winning the WPIAL championship last season
What are your future plans after graduation? Attend Kent State University for Criminology

What do you feel is your biggest strength? Being a coachable player, my confidence, and shooting
What is your favorite part of it? Being able to play on the court with my girls and having fun doing it

What has been your favorite memory been over the years? Getting to play alongside my cousin my freshman and sophomore year
What are your future plans after graduation? My plans are to attend Clarion University on a basketball scholarship. I will be studying chemistry and pre-pharmacy

What has been your favorite memory been over the years? Heading to championship meets with all my friends that I have swam with since I was little
What are your future plans after graduation? Attend a 4-year college to study business
Do you plan to continue to play sports after high school? I plan to swim in college
Chris Quintanilla

What do you feel is your biggest strength? I feel my biggest strength is the team unity and how we all hold each other accountable for each other and we all push each other to be the best athletes we can be
Who do you feel is your biggest rivalry this upcoming season? I feel our biggest rivalry is with laurel because we have always have good matches with them and they are a very good team
What has been your favorite memory been over the years? My favorite memory from wrestling is when I wrestled the state champion Grant MacKay and he flipped me over him and a picture was taken when I was perfectly vertical in the air with my head to the ground and feet in the air. The picture was posted to Instagram and it went viral and I thought it was very funny.
What are your future plans after graduation? After graduation I plan on going to Geneva College to study education
Do you plan to continue to play sports after high school? As of now I don’t plan to play any sports in College
