Ellwood City leaned on Ryan Odom who earned a singles match victory to propel Ellwood City to a 3-2 victory over rival Riverside on Tuesday.
Odom defeated Jaden Falk 6-5 and 7-5.
For Riverside, Samuel Hughes collected a singles victory, defeating Grady Smith of Ellwood City 6-0 and 6-3. The Panthers also collected a doubles victory as Reece Pilarski & Jeff Weisz rallied to defeat Ellwood City’s Ayden Frisk & Hunter Rock (5-7, 6-4, 6-2) after dropping their first set.
The host Wolverines earned forfeit victories in its third singles match and second doubles match to come out ahead with the 3-2 victory.
Ellwood City (3-2 overall) next hosts Beaver on Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. in make-up action. The Wolverines will enter on a two game winning streak after defeating Beaver Falls and Riverside this week.
