Ellwood City posted a clean sweep Thursday afternoon with girls tennis, co-ed golf, and volleyball all collecting victories.
The Ellwood City Girls Tennis Team defeated Beaver Falls 5-0 to even their record to 1-1 on the season. Maddy McCommons (6-1, 6-0) and Rylea Heitzenrater (6-0, 6-0) collected singles victories. Olivia Andrew and Savannah Holsinger (6-0, 6-0) posted a victory in doubles. Two forfeits aided the Wolverines victory.
The Ellwood City Co-Ed Golf continued its strong early season play with a 220-235 victory over Laurel on Thursday. The Wolverines are now 6-1 overall. Milo Sesti fired a team-low round of 38 while Zac Polojac (42), Zion Bunney (43), and Tyler Baker (48) posted strong rounds. Dan Rogers carded a 49 for Ellwood City.
The Ellwood City Girls Volleyball team bounced back from an early two set deficit and defeated Neshannock 3-2 on the road Thursday. After dropping the first two sets (7-25, 23-25), the girls stormed back taking the following two sets by a narrow margin (25-21, 25-23) before collecting its victory in the fifth set (15-13). The girls volleyball team improved its record to 3-2 overall (1-1 section)
