Lincoln High School Preparing For Back To School

Time to break out those notebooks and pencils, school is right around the corner.

Children in 7th Grade are welcome to attend Lincoln High School’s 7th Grade  Orientation on August 17th at 6:00 p.m. in the Lincoln High School Sabo Auditorium. The event will last approximately an hour and will include and introduction of 7th Grade teachers and courses, an overview of student affairs, school policies, and some insight that you may not learn anywhere else.

This is an opportunity for parents to learn in the ins and outs of Lincoln and to calm the nerves of 7th Grade students and to make the transition into 7th Grade as easy as possible.

Parents will have the opportunity to set up cafeteria account for their child. Parents will be able to set the account up if money or a check with their child’s name is brought to orientation. It is asked that checks are to be made payable to Ellwood City Area School District.

Additionally, Lincoln High School will be hosting a Meet The Teacher event on August 24th from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Parents and students will have the opportunity to walk around the building and visit the classrooms they will be in ans speak with their new teachers.

“There will be no set schedule for the high school event,” says Kirk Lape, Lincoln High School Principal. “It is open for those two hours and students and parents may use that time to do what they feel is beneficial for them.”

The school district also encourages all students and/or a parent or guardian to pick up their Chromebook prior to the start of the school year.

There are two pick-up times in the Lincoln Sabo Auditorium. The district asks that you enter and exit the auditorium using the front step doors anytime between 11:00 a.m and 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 19 or Friday, August 20, 2021.

Upon pick up you will be asked to complete and sign acknowledgement of the Chromebook Handbook. You will also be asked to complete and sign a Google Workspace for Education acnkowledgement in order to receive the Chromebook.

It is highly recommended the Chromebook be picked up prior to the start of the school year to ensure students are ready to go on the first day of class.

Students and/or parents or guardians may also pick up the Chromebook at Meet the Teacher Open House with proper signature pages cojmpleted. Any student unable to pick their Chromebook up during on these three times will receive the Chromebook during advisory period on the first day of school.
