Aaron Falk powered the Riverside Panthers to a 6-2 victory over Ellwood City Friday afternoon.
Falk drove in runs with a single in the first, a double in the second, and a home run in the fifth inning.
The Panthers jumped out to an early when Evan Burry collected a run scoring double in the first inning. Riverside staked claim to a 3-0 lead after the first frame and never looked back.
Falk led Riverside with three hits in three at bats. Madden Boehm, Burry, Falk, and Ashton Schlosser all collected extra base hits for the Panthers.
Ron Harper was the winning pitcher for Riverside. Harper went five innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out one. Boehm threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Hampton took the loss for Ellwood City as he allowed three hits and three runs over one-third of an inning, walking one. Nick Magnifico and Bucky Bishop each collected two hits at the plate to lead Ellwood City offensively.
Both Ellwood City and Riverside will play home-and-home games next week as the Panthers host South Park Monday afternoon and later travel to play South Park on Tuesday while Ellwood City hosts Beaver Falls on Monday before traveling to Beaver Falls on Tuesday.
