Nick Ottaviani didn’t allow a single run against Avonworth, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Riverside to a 4-0 victory on Wednesday
Riverside opened up scoring in the first inning, when an error scored one run for Riverside.
One bright spot for Avonworth was a single by Turner Grau in the fourth inning.
Ottaviani earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Riverside. He went seven innings, allowing zero runs on two hits, striking out one and walking one.
Ryan Felter took the loss for Avonworth. He surrendered four runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out two and walking zero.
Brian MacMurdo led Riverside with two hits in three at bats.
