A local Lions Club has joined forces with a local Dollar General store to offer an initiative aimed to help provide hygiene products for those in need.
Lions Clubs International District Governor, Chip Campbell, of the Riverside Lions and Christina Radich, General Manager of the Franklin Township Dollar General store, are pictured below standing with the Hygiene Helpers box located at the store.
Campbell has made the collection of hygiene supplies his district-wide project for this year.
“The Lions have recognized the need to help supply hygiene products to those in need and are accepting donations at the store,” said Campbell. “All donations will be greatly appreciated.”
In 2019, Campbell and the Lions Club introduced a similar hygiene box at the local Giant Eagle aimed at helping children in need.
According to TheHygieneBank.com, hygiene poverty is shaming, humiliating and excluding and can result in social isolation. It leads to a crippling lack of confidence and negatively affects good health and mental well-being which can impact early childhood development, learning, employability and social interaction.
