Ellwood City Varsity Boys Cross Country team remained undefeated on the season with a victory at Quad Meet at Brush Creek Park on Wednesday. The boys team defeated Freedom (18-45), Laurel (17-42), and Lincoln Park (15-48). Top five runners for the Wolverines include Marley Schweiger (1st place, 18:14), Nolan Curran (2nd place, 18:15), Joe Cioffi (4th place, 19:54), Joel Brooks (5th place, 20:02), and Nick Wise (8th place, 21:22)
The boys team is now 4-0 in section and 5-0 overall.

Milo Sesti powered the Ellwood City boys golf team to its impressive victory over rival Riverside on Tuesday at the Connoquenessing Country Club. Sesti fired a low round of 38 to lead Ellwood City to its 226-250 victory of host Riverside. Joey Hudson (41) and Ryan Hampton (44) also chipped in to help the victors. For Riverside, Logan Greer fired a team low round of 46 in defeat.
The boys golf team is now 6-2 on the season and will next travel to play Neshannock on Thursday at 2:00 p.m.
BONUS: The Ellwood City Boys Middle School Football Team defeated New Brighton 50-16 on Wednesday. The team was easily out in front of the Lions, leading 44-0 at halftime.
