Corona D’italia Lodge’s Final Mother-Daughter-Scholarship Dinner

Corona D’italia Lodge #807 held their final Mother-Daughter-Scholarship Dinner at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, May 7, at the Wolverine Restaurant. Reservations and seating were conducted by Patty Kuhn and Lois DiFrischia. Officers, members, and guests were greeted by Chairman, Valerie Valentino, as she presented each with the favor of a retractable back scratcher.

Chairman Valentino, welcomed all the officers, members and guests with Mother’s Day wishes. She introduced scholarship winner, Janelle Amadio, and her parents, Kevin and Lorrie Amadio, and Co-Chairman, Lois DiFrischia, representing scholarship winner, her granddaughter, Maya DiFrischia, daughter of Daniel and Sushma, Patel DiFrischia. Valentino recognized Patty Regna who presented a very encompassing and spiritual invocation and dinner was served.

A heartwarming poem, from daughter to mother, written by and presented by Valentino, was deeply enjoyed as dessert was served. Presentation of awards followed. Valentino presented a $500.00 scholarship check to Janelle Amadio, who expressed her appreciation. She will graduate from West Allegheny High School having completed academic and cosmetology courses and will attend LaRoche University to major in Business Management.

Valentino presented a $500.00 scholarship check to DiFrischia for Maya M. DiDrischia. She expressed the appreciation from her granddaughter who will graduate from Pinecrest High School, Southern Pines, North Carolina, having completed an extensive academic schedule. She will be attending Bryn Mawr University in Philadelphia to major in Pre-med. Congratulations to the winners were expressed by all in attendance.

A social time followed and the 50-50 winner was Esther Santilo. Door prizes of gift certificates were won by Mary Mazzant, Clemmy Sirimarco, Mauro Greco, Mary Jane Folino, Anita Chaffin, Esther Santilo, Janelle Amadio and Valentino.

Sirimarco expressed her appreciation to Valentino, DiFrischia, Louise Vitullo and all officers and members for their support and work that brought a fitting conclusion to the Corona D’italia Lodge #807.
