Submissions can be sent electronically to ecstaff@ellwoodcity.org or a hard copy can be filled out in the Color Center on Lawrence Avenue. Noah Rinker didn’t allow a single run as Ellwood City Wolverines defeated South Side 4-0 on Thursday. Rinker allowed just one hit and induced a fly out from Rob Heberle to end the game. Jeannette Throws Shutout as Riverside Panthers Varsity Defeats Lincoln

Adam Jeannette didn’t allow a single run as Riverside Panthers Varsity defeated Lincoln 10-0 on Wednesday. Jeannette allowed just two hits and struck out Roth to end the game. An early lead helped propel Riverside Panthers Varsity to victory. Riverside Panthers Varsity scored on a walk by Austin Dambach, a single by Gunnar Boehm, and a grand slam by Danny Fox in the first inning. Riverside Panthers Varsity captured the lead in the first inning. Dambach drove in a run when he walked with the bases loaded. A single by Rinker in the fifth inning was a positive for Lincoln….

  Ellwood City Wolverines Can’t Hold Up Against Avonworth Ellwood City Wolverines had trouble keeping up with Avonworth in a 7-3 loss on Tuesday. Avonworth captured the lead in the first inning. Brandon Cerminara drove in a run when he walked with the bases loaded. Avonworth took the lead for good with four runs in the fourth inning. PHOTOS: Ellwood City Amateur Baseball Federation Opening Day

The Ellwood City Amateur Baseball Federation hosted their annual opening day ceremony Saturday at Friedhoff Field – an event which the organizations Vice President, Michael Widmaier, said was a success. “The weather held off until the end, parents and grandparents paraded with their kids, the high school baseball players applauded the young players as they paraded onto the field, Mayor Court attended, and Nathan Scott threw the first pitch. Overall the day was successful.” The event had carnival style games including a dunk tank, raffle, parade, Chinese auction, home run derby, and the national anthem sung by a local student….

Stiefel Park Batting Practice: Lady Wolverines Hit 2 Homers and Improve to 10-0

 Grove City entered Friday evening’s non section game with 11 home runs on the season. The Lady Wolverines won the home run battle and the game with a 9-5 victory. Wolverines, Panthers Victorious Against Opponents

Ellwood City Wolverines Wins Back-And-Forth Affair Against Beaver Falls Ellwood City Wolverines defeated Beaver Falls 7-6 in a back-and-forth affair on Wednesday. The game was tied at three with Ellwood City Wolverines batting in the top of the sixth when Jordan Recce reached on a dropped third strike. Despite falling down by four runs in the seventh inning, Beaver Falls tried to fight back. Riverside was victorious over Ellwood City in both the girls and boys track competition Monday evening. “The teams competed well, but we are missing the depth to compete with a strong team such as Riverside. I’m very pleased with how hard all of the athletes work, and it shows in their individual performances.
