Larry “Bear” Walls, 74, of Old Rt. 18, Wampum passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 following a short courageous battle with cancer.
Born February 6, 1943 in New Castle, PA, he was the son of the late Merrill and Vera Mitchell Walls.
Larry was a self employed truck driver. A graduate of Wampum High in 1961, Larry played on the state champion basketball team. He enjoyed working on cars and engines, attending car and steam shows, and riding his Harley. He was a lifetime member of the Portersville Steam Show Assn.
Survivors include his wife, the former Marie Harrison, two step sons, John and Anthony Harrison, both of Ohio; a sister, Kathy (Rich) Olsen of McKees Rocks; two brothers, Merle “Bud” (Bonnie) Copper of Maine, David (Sandy) Copper of New Wilmington; and two grandchildren, Amanda Durr and C.J. Walls.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Terry Lynn Durr, two sons David and Charlie Walls and a granddaughter, Rachel Durr.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday December 22, 2017 from 4 pm until the time of the memorial service at 7 pm. at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main Street Wampum. Rev. Mike Wimer will officiate the service.
