Activities taking place at the Ellwood City Area Public Library include the following:
Monday, August 7, at 10:00 a.m. — “Coloring for Adults,” a weekly program that is free and open to the public. “Coloring for Adults” designed to help reduce the stresses of everyday life. Everyone is welcome, so call the library for more information. This program has been moved to Monday mornings at 10:00 a.m. through August 9 because of Summer Reading Program activities. Wednesday, August 9, at 12:00 Noon – “The Book Bunch,” a book discussion group for students who had just completed 3rd grade. This group met all summer long for book discussions and pizza. This is the final meeting for the year.
Thursday, August 10, at 12:00 Noon – “Bookworms,” a book discussion group for students who had completed 4th and 5th grades. The group met all summer long for book discussions and pizza. This is the final meeting for this group for the year.
Thursday, August 10, at 6:30 p.m. – “Family Movie Night,” featuring a full-length-feature film designed for preschoolers and early elementary-aged students. Refreshments are served. Since this is a family night event, all children must be accompanied by an adult. No registration is required, so call the library for more information or for the title of the film to be shown.
The library is now accepting donations of books for the Annual Book Sale scheduled for the week of October 2-7. The library will accept books of all types that are in good, saleable condition. Also accepted will be DVDs and CDs, both audio books and music. The library will NOT ACCEPT Readers’ Digest Condensed books, no encyclopedia sets, no textbooks, no magazines or VHS tapes. Donations may be dropped off at the library during normal business hours. Call for more information.
“Movie Night for Adults,” a monthly program featuring new-to-DVD films which is free and open to all area adults, will be held this month on August 23 at 6:00 p.m.
