Ellwood City Wolverines Jumps Out to Early Lead in Victory Over Mohawk Area

An early lead helped Ellwood City Wolverines defeat Mohawk Area 10-3 on Thursday. Ellwood City Wolverines scored on a double by Max Keally, a double by Rick Pitrelli, a single by Shane Sedgwick, and a double by Noah Rinker in the first inning.

Mohawk Area captured the lead in the first inning. Braydon Cameron drove in one when he singled in the first inning.

Ellwood City Wolverines took the lead for good with four runs in the first inning. In the first Max Keally doubled off of Tyler Cummings, driving in one run, Rick Pitrelli doubled off of Cummings, driving in one run, Shane Sedgwick singled off of Cummings, driving in one run, and Noah Rinker doubled off of Cummings, driving in one run.

Ellwood City Wolverines scored four runs in the sixth inning. The big inning was thanks to a error and a error.

Sedgwick earned the win for Ellwood City Wolverines. He went six innings, giving up three runs, four hits, striking out six, and walking one. Rinker recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Ellwood City Wolverines. Cummings took the loss for Mohawk Area. He threw five and two-thirds innings, giving up ten runs, 12 hits, and striking out one.

Ellwood City Wolverines collected 12 hits. Keally, Anthony Roth, Rinker, and Pitrelli each collected multiple hits for Ellwood City Wolverines. Keally and Pitrelli each drove in two runs to lead Ellwood City Wolverines.

 

 

Greco’s Walkoff Gives Wolverines Victory Over Avonworth

Wolverines took Thursday’s game in dramatic fashion, with a 4-3 walk-off victory over Avonworth . The game was tied at three with Wolverines batting in the bottom of the seventh when Natalia Greco hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run.

Wolverines earned the victory despite allowing Avonworth to score three runs in the third inning. Avonworth ‘s big inning was driven by a error and a double by Sarah Helffrich.

Wolverines took an early lead in the first inning. Natalia Greco’s sac fly scored one run for Wolverines.

In the top of the third inning, Avonworth tied things up at three. Avonworth scored two runs when Helffrich doubled with two outs in the third inning.

Avonworth scored three runs in the third inning. The big inning for Avonworth came thanks to a error and a double by Helffrich.

Wolverines had eight hits in the game. Brooklyn Magill and Zoe Kalantzis each collected multiple hits for Wolverines. Kalantzis and Magill each managed two hits to lead Wolverines.

Avonworth collected five hits. Elaina Tkazcenko and Helffrich each collected multiple hits for Avonworth.
