William A. Sturgis, 64

Mr. William A. Sturgis, 64, of Franklin Twp. passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 23, 2017 in his residence.

Bill was born on March 26, 1952 in Allegheny County to the late James A. Sturgis and Agnes Miller Sturgis Fischer. He had graduated from Shaler High School with the class of 1969. Bill then served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was the owner and operator of Bill’s Garage in Franklin Twp. for many years. He is also a member of the Lillyville Church of God. He enjoyed working on cars, reading, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Marziale Sturgis whom he married on June 5, 1987, his daughters, Christine (Gary) Morton of Pittsburgh, Valerie (Brett) Lindenmuth of Rochester, NY, and Jesce Sturgis of Beckley, W. VA, and his grandchildren, Hannah Morton, Sam Morton, Jacob Lindenmuth, Tyler Lindenmuth, Hailey Walker, Ryleigh Sturgis, and Makayla Fischer. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Colin Charles Fischer, Jr., and his brothers, James C. Sturgis and John Sturgis.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and on Monday from 9-10 am in the Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, Inc. and Cremation Services. Services for Bill will be held on Monday at 10:00 am in the funeral home with Rev. Dennis Arndt officiating. Interment will follow at the Lillyville Church of God Cemetery.

Memorial contributions in Bill’s name may be made to the Butler VNA Hospice.
