Audition for the Tamburitzans

The opportunity to audition for The Tamburitzans 2017-2018 season begins February 8 and students are welcome to try out to be part of “America’s treasured cultural tradition.”

The Tamburitzans is a Duquesne University group-effort tradition consisting of an array of talented students who have awed crowds for almost 80 years.

“Year after year, generation after generation, The Tamburitzans dazzle audiences across the country with elaborate costumes and incredibly versatile musicians, singers, and dancers,” their official website states.

The main idea of the Tammies is to promote diversity of cultural heritages through performance and folk arts, while also enjoying the experiences and traveling that partners closely with the performance profession.

The group is currently searching for talented students who want to receive scholarship funding to attend any Pittsburgh area university or college and perform with a world-renowned ensemble of young artists.

Auditions can be scheduled by calling 412-224-2071 and if travel to their Pittsburgh location is not possible, video submission auditions will be accepted. Full guidelines are available here.
