CCBC Foundation Appoints Community Leader and Aviation Alum to Board of Directors

Monaca, PA – Community College of Beaver County is proud to announce the appointment of Mark Peterson and Daniel Zeljak to the CCBC Foundation Board of Directors. The expansion of the Board allows the CCBC Foundation to increase outreach efforts and grow resources for assisting the College, CCBC students, and the community we serve.

A resident of Daugherty Township, Mark Peterson is the current president of Sound Ideas Media, LLC, and the owner of WBVP-WMBA Radio in Beaver Falls. Mr. Peterson earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Geneva College in 1986 and shortly after began his career in local radio, starting as a part-time announcer at WBVP-WWKS and working his way to station manager and now owner. His community outreach efforts include serving as an advisory board member and past chairman of Beaver County Children and Youth Services; founding member and previous board member of Leaders Serving Beaver County (LSBC); organizer and sponsor of the “Run For McGuire,” an annual motorcycle fundraiser; board member of the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC); and Board member of Voluntary Organizations Active In Disasters (VOAD).

A CCBC alumnus, Daniel Zeljak currently serves as an Airline Transport Pilot for American Airlines/US Airways. Mr. Zeljak’s career at American Airlines/US Airways includes experience as an Airbus Fleet Specialist, during which he was responsible for providing technical support to flight training and standards managers; developing and testing procedural revisions; and managing and developing policy and procedure projects. He has also served as Classroom Instructor and Curriculum Development Specialist, during which he provided classroom training for US Airway’s flight crewmembers and participated in curriculum development for crew resource management and new hire training programs. Mr. Zeljak is also currently a part-time aviation faculty member at CCBC.

The CCBC Foundation is dedicated to developing and enhancing educational opportunities offered by CCBC.
