Zachery Saunders Appointed CCBC Trustee

Monaca, PA – The CCBC Board of Trustees welcomed a new member at their board meeting on Tuesday, September 20. Zachery S. Saunders of Potter Township is the newest CCBC Trustee appointed by the Beaver County Board of Commissioners.

Mr. Saunders is currently a Major Gifts Officer for the University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Athletics.  Prior to his current role, he served as the Compliance Director and Assistant Athletic Director for Pitt Athletics.  Mr. Saunders earned his bachelor’s degree in economics and psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, and was a recipient of the George I. Carson Graduate Fellowship at Pitt while serving as a Graduate Assistant with the Pitt Football program.  He also holds a master’s degree in Higher Education Management and is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Pittsburgh.

The CCBC Board of Trustees is appointed by the Beaver County Commissioners as the governing body for CCBC. Trustees provide a public service aimed at establishing and overseeing college goals, ensuring financial integrity, hiring and evaluating the president, and supporting and advocating college initiatives to serve students and the region.

“My background in education, economics, psychology, student affairs, intercollegiate athletics, and compliance has prepared me well for this opportunity,” said Mr. Saunders in his letter to the Board. “I am very excited about the opportunity to assist the Board of Trustees and President while making a strong, positive impact on the lives of students, faculty, staff, and the greater Beaver County community.”

Mr. Saunders has played an active role within the University of Pittsburgh community through service on various committees and has experience in strategic planning, finance, compliance, hiring practices, and policy development.  He is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics; National Association of Athletics Compliance (NAAC); and Pennsylvania College Personnel Association.
