“We are a little fish in a big pond and we will leave our mark,” expressed Riverside Swim Team head coach Gwen Nulph when asked about the upcoming WPIAL Swimming Championships. They surely have owned up to this statement during the season and now turn their attention to the WPIAL Class AA championships. Three Ellwood Wrestlers Place At WPIAL Tournament, Advance To Regionals

Three Ellwood City wrestlers medaled at the WPIAL Individual Wrestling Tournament this past weekend and all will advance to the PIAA Class AA Southwest Regional tournament at the Ed Frey Arena, Kovalchick Convention & Athletic Complex at Indiana University of Pennsylvania on Friday and Saturday. Riverside Varsity Swim team is making a ‘splash’ this season as the undefeated Panthers boys’ team will be looking to claim a section championship this week. Both the boys and girls varsity swim teams won in their Senior Night meet against Beaver Fall that had been held last Thursday. Prior to the meet the team honored their swimming seniors Tristn Schuester, the foreign exchange student, Jonas Tamme from Germany, Rachel LaRocca, Mckenna Hoyman, Wyatt Ray, and Donnie Paracca. Riverside Boys & Girls Varsity Soccer Teams Onto Playoffs

Riverside Panthers boys and girls soccer teams have both advanced to the WPIAL Playoffs that begin this weekend. The Riverside girls team are first to play on Saturday, October 20th in an opening round contest against defending WPIAL Champion Greensburg Central Catholic.  The game will take place at 1:00pm at Hampton School District.  The winner will advance to a second round match-up versus the OLSH/Beth Center winner. Riverside & Ellwood Boys Golf Teams Share Section Co-Championship

The Riverside and Ellwood boys golf teams both had extremely successful seasons. Their records led to the two, normal rivals, to be crowned section co-champs. Riverside Swimming To Compete In WPIAL Finals

The Riverside boys will swim at the WPIAL Swimming Championship to be held at the University of Pittsburgh Trees Pool on Thursday, March 1, 2018 & Friday, March 2, 2018. Last week the Riverside boys team placed 3rd at MAC Championships against AAA schools. In the WPIAL Championships, the medley relay is seeded 2nd, the 200 Free is seeded 4th, and the 400 Free relays is seeded 5th. Each swimmer will also participate in individual events. Congratulations to the Riverside Football Team on advancing to the WPIAL Semi-Finals by defeating Avonworth High School on Friday night. Riverside will now play at North Hills at 7:30p.m. against Steel Valley High School this Friday. Tickets will be on sale this Friday in the high school athletic office from 7:50a.m. to 10:50a.m. Then tickets will be sold in the middle school and elementary lunches from 10:50a.m. and -12:30p.m. Finally, tickets will be on sale in the athletic office again from 12:30p.m.- 1:30p.m. Student tickets are $5 and adult tickets are $7. All tickets will be $7 at the gate.
