Riverside Varsity Swim is Making a “Splash” in Their Section

Riverside Varsity Swim team is making a ‘splash’ this season as the undefeated Panthers boys’ team will be looking to claim a section championship this week.

Both the boys and girls varsity swim teams won in their Senior Night meet against Beaver Fall that had been held last Thursday. Prior to the meet the team honored their swimming seniors Tristn Schuester, the foreign exchange student, Jonas Tamme from Germany, Rachel LaRocca, Mckenna Hoyman, Wyatt Ray, and Donnie Paracca.

Following their victory against Beaver Falls on Thursday, the boys’ team placed 3rd overall on Saturday at Moon High School for the MAC Championships.

“Our kids are winners and hard workers,” said Riverside coach Gwen Nulph, “I have coached some of these kids since they were 5 years old. I know they have what it takes to win.”

Both varsity teams will swim at Beaver for the WPIAL Section 2 title on Wednesday, February 13. Both boys team will enter the title meet undefeated.

Even though the Panthers outswam Beaver at the MAC Championships over the weekend, Nulph says that all of the boys need to be strong to capture the section title.

“They will climb out of this pool on Wednesday and leave nothing behind,” Nulph commented, “It is time for Riverside to shine in swimming.”
