Rep. Kelly Honors Ellwood City Resident For Earning Congressional Award

WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Representative Mike Kelly (R-PA) recently recognized Eric Perkins, of Ellwood City, as a Congressional Award Silver Medal Recipient, during an October 1st meeting in Rep. Kelly’s Butler office. The Congressional Award is a non-partisan, voluntary, and non-competitive award program for young Americans. The Congressional Award is open to ages between 14-24. The program encourages young Americans to set goals in important areas: expedition and exploration, physical fitness, personal development, and voluntary public service. Borough Needs Volunteers To Help Fill Planter Boxes

The Borough of Ellwood City is looking for volunteers to help fill their downtown planter boxes. Last month, the borough received a $2,000.00 2023 National Pennsylvania Day Mini Grant from America250PA and EQT Corporation, in partnership with the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation and in support of Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful. The grant funds will be utilized to assist with costs to replace planter boxes along Lawrence Avenue, the town’s main street. “The event is a community revitalization effort around businesses and organizations, we believe it will be a great way to revitalize our main corridor,” said Kevin Swogger, borough manager. Ellwood City Wolves Club Recognizes Local Man For Volunteer Work

The Ellwood City Wolves Club Den II recognized a local man for his volunteer work in our community for the past 50 years. The Club recognizes local citizens who perform volunteer work in the community and epitomize the Clubs moto: “Pro Bono Publico”-For the Good of the Public.
