Riverside Golf Team to Compete in WPIALs

The Riverside Golf Team qualified for the WPIAL team playoffs and will be competing tomorrow, Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Indian Run Golf Course in Avella, PA., at 9:00 a.m. The team will leave at 6a.m. from the high school parking lot. Lincoln Graduate Gets First Career Sack Against Cornell

Nicholas Ioanilli, Lincoln graduate of 2016 is now attending Colgate and playing for their football team as a middle linebacker. Butler, PA – The Butler County Community College golf team’s chances – and spirits – are soaring ahead of this weekend’s Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference championships, as are tee shots from Tyler Good’s newfound low-ball flight setting. Wolverine Football Players Face Suspension After Incident Last Friday

Some Ellwood City football players will be facing suspension after a brawl last Friday night following the football game versus Valley. According to an article on New Castle News, Principal Kirk Lape stated the school was notified by the PIAA that players had been disqualified from the contest with Valley and will now be required to sit out Friday’s home game against Beaver. Lape, athletic director Curt Agostinelli, and head coach Nick Hand will be meeting with Valley and WPIAL officials to further discuss the incident. At this time it is unclear which individuals have been suspended.

Lincoln High Grad Fires 76, Sparks BC3 to Win for Third Time in Three Outings

Bakerstown, PA – Tyler Good, a 2017 graduate of Lincoln High School in his third appearance with the Butler County Community College golf team, led the Pioneers to victory for the third consecutive match by firing a 3-over 76 Sunday against the Community College of Allegheny County-Boyce at Pittsburgh North Golf Course. Good’s 76 was a stroke better than that of CCAC-Boyce’s Holden Hitchcock. PHOTOS: Alex’s Lemonade Stand Competition

Last Friday, a teacher from Ellwood City and Beaver Falls squared against each other in a football-tossing challenge, called Alex’s Lemonade Stand, to raise awareness and money for childhood cancer. The fundraising idea came from Cara Atkinson, leader of the Hope Club at Ellwood City, who said the outcome was definitely worth it and that she hopes to do it again next year. Ellwood won raising $982 and Beaver Falls raised $502. $300 was raised at the game and Ellwood continued their fundraising all this week to hopefully reach a final goal of $2,000. Butler, PA – Tyler Good, a 2017 Lincoln High graduate in his second appearance with the Butler County Community College golf team, shot a 9-over 81 Tuesday to lead the Pioneers to victories over Westmoreland County Community College and the Community College of Allegheny County-Boyce in BC3’s home opener at Lake Arthur Golf Club.
