The Ellwood City Area Historical Society will award four (4) fifteen hundred dollar($1,500.00) scholarships this year. All graduating seniors living in the Ellwood City Area School District or the Riverside School District are eligible. Applications and requirements may be obtained from either high school Guidance Counselor, or from the Ellwood City Area Historical Society. The History Center at 310 5th Street is open Monday through Thursday from 10 am until 2 pm. Two Local Students To Receive 2025 Viccari-McDonald’s of Ellwood City Scholarships

McDonald’s of Ellwood City and the Beaver County Foundation are pleased to announce that Tessa Folino from Lincoln High School and Lucas Moody from Riverside High School will both receive the 2025 Viccari-McDonald’s of Ellwood City Scholarship. The check presentations will take place at 4:30 pm TODAY, Tuesday, June 17 at McDonald’s of Ellwood City, 15 5th Street. The Rotary Club of Ellwood City held its scholarship dinner on May 15th. Seniors from Ellwood City and Riverside and their families celebrated with the Rotarians. This year, the Club awarded 6 educational scholarship- totaling $6000.00 In the past, the scholarships were directed at 4-year and 2- year academics. The Ellwood City Wolves Club Den 11 hosted their annual Scholarship Awards dinner on Wednesday May 28, at 6PM, at the Connequenessing Country Club. Ellwood Historical Society Awards Scholarships

Four local high school seniors were awarded scholarships by the Ellwood City Area Historical Society on Monday night. DeLanna Fox (Riverside H.S.), Kailyn Hamilton (Lincoln H.S.), Hannah Hyde (Commonwealth Charter Academy), and Sara Schwarz (Lincoln H.S.) each received $1,500 toward their continuing education. Fox and Schwarz won Marlene Painter Scholarships with essays on “Why I Want to be a Teacher.” Hamilton and Hyde were winners of the Robert and Janice Barensfeld Scholarship. McDonald’s Honors Local Legend With College Scholarship Program

Seniors graduating from Ellwood City High School and Riverside High School are eligible to apply for the Dom Viccari-McDonald’s of Ellwood City Scholarship. The annual scholarship is named to honor the man who worked tirelessly to improve Ellwood City for all residents, first as a five-term council member and three-term council president, and later as borough manager for more than seven years until his retirement in 2013.
