Wolverines Softball Stays Unbeaten, Defeats Shenango 4-1 The Lady Wolverines finished their pre section tune up with a record of 3-0 after a victory over Shenango Thursday evening at Steifel Park. Junior Ellie Kalantzis staked the team to a 1-0 lead in the first inning as she tripled into the right field corner and scored on a wild pitch. COACH TALK: Ellwood City and Riverside Softball Teams Each Look To Continue Playoff Streaks

Both Ellwood City and Riverside softball teams will enter their 2023 regular season campaigns with sights set on returning to the WPIAL Playoffs, continuing streaks for both teams. For the Lady Wolverines, a playoff streak currently rests at eight straight seasons, and the girls will look to it nine this spring. Rosenberger Signs With Barry University

Riverside Panther standout student-athlete Samantha Rosenberger has officially signed her letter of intent to play Division II softball with Barry University, in Miami, Florida. Rosenberger has received a full academic and athletic scholarship and is pictured signing her paperwork last Friday, November 18th at Riverside High School Rosenberger is a 1B/LHP senior captain for the Lady Panthers Varsity Softball team. The Riverside Panthers softball team will be welcomed with an onslaught of younger, talented players this year according to head coach Gerilynn Cummings. Riverside Varsity Softball Team To Host Pancake Breakfast

Riverside’s Varsity Softball team will be hosting a pancake breakfast at Lillyville Church of God on Saturday, November 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. There will be raffle tickets you can buy to enter to win either a Steelers Basket or a Panther Basket, as well as a topping bar to go with your pancakes. The cost is $8.00 for adults ages 11 to 54 and $5.00 for senior citizens 55 and up. The official flyer is below. PHOTOS: Big Second Inning Propels Lady Wolverines To Victory Over Riverside

Two Ellwood City homers led to an eight run outburst in the second inning that propelled the Lady Wolverines past visiting Riverside 15-2 in varsity softball action. Breonna Streit, Maura Agostinelli, Makinley Magill, Anna Ferrucci, Maria Ioanilli, and Zoe Kalantzis all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.  Ellwood City added on six more runs in the third inning.
