Bernstine Announces C2P2 Grant To Fund Rehabilitation of Wampum Park

HARRISBURG – Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R-Butler/Lawrence) announced grants totaling $171,300 have been awarded to Butler and Lawrence counties to fund two recreational improvement projects through the Community Conservation Partnerships Program (C2P2). “Parks and recreation centers provide gathering places for families and social groups, as well as for individuals of all ages and economic status,” said Bernstine. “Development projects are vital to our district as they provide job opportunities to those in surrounding areas and, upon completion, help increase tourism in our communities.” Wampum Borough in Lawrence County will receive a grant of $73,000 to rehabilitate Wampum Park. Vogel Announces Over $3 Million in Park Project Grants for Beaver, Butler, & Lawrence Counties

“Friends Of The Park” Help Fix Up Wampum Community Park

Wampum Park is a local park that over the years had began to get run down and was in need of repairs and updates and when Karen Goebel saw this, she knew someone needed to do something. So she did it. Goebel. a local of the area, talked with the borough in the fall of 2020 and asked if there was anything they could do to help. New Playground & Features Coming To Lawrence Avenue & 7th Street

A new construction project at the 7L Playground is in full swing! Borough of Ellwood City Public Works Department crews are currently completing site prep work right now on the southeast corner of the intersection of 7th Street and Lawrence Avenue (7L) in advance of the installation of new equipment. “We do not have a timeline as much of the work is weather permitting and we are not certain we are done with the snow just yet,” said Public Works Secretary Rhiannon Schnell.
