REMINDER: 2023 Ellwood City Military Banners Submission Deadline Approaching

Ellwood City is happy to introduce the Ellwood City Military Banners Program for its third year to the Veterans who are residents of the Ellwood City Area or Lincoln High School graduates. However, the deadline is quickly approaching! All forms for the 2023 banner phase are to be submitted no later than May 1, 2023 if you want to have a banner displayed for this year. REMINDER: Military Banner Submission Deadline Approaching

The Military Banners Programs approved by the Borough of Ellwood City earlier this year has a deadline fast approaching. “As some people may have heard the military banner project did get approved by council and with this, forms have been flowing in,” says organizer Gabby Gretch. The Borough of Ellwood City is happy to introduce the Ellwood City Military Banners Programs to the Veterans who are residents of the Ellwood City area or Lincoln High School graduates. This does not include active-duty or persons living outside the Ellwood City Borough limits (Chewton, Perry, and Wayne Townships, Ellport, Koppel, and Wampum). Council Approves Military Banners Project

Ellwood City Borough Council voted to authorize implementation of the Ellwood City Military Banners project. The project will be led by Gabrielle Gretch. Gretch, a Riverside graduate who plans to attend UPMC Shadyside School of Nursing in January, said she was inspired to take on this project during her internship. “I did my scholarship on Leslie Sabo Jr. for the Historical society and shortly after was driving with my mom in Butler and asked why we didn’t have these in Ellwood,” she said. “I hope this will achieve great things and one day many streets in Ellwood will be filled…
