2020 Mayor’s Beautification Awards To Commence

It’s that beautiful time of the year again! Mayor Anthony J. Court will be starting his “Beautification Award Program” in Ellwood City. This has been a trying year and now it’s time to bring life back to our neighborhoods. Mayor Court started this program 10 years ago and it has been a huge success. Mayor Court Declares April 23rd “Joe Gasper Day”

Our area’s last World War II Pearl Harbor Survivor will turn 102 years of age on Thursday, April 23. In conjunction with the birthday celebration for Ellwood City native Joseph Michael Gasper, Mayor Anthony J. Court is honoring Mr. Gasper with a proclamation. PUBLIC NOTICE: Special Borough Council Meeting Date Announced

According to information made available this afternoon, the Borough of Ellwood City has announced a date for a special council meeting for this Friday, March 27, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. The council meeting will be done remotely, with Council conducting the special meeting by conference call. The purpose of this special meeting is to extend the Mayor’s Proclamation of the State of Emergency for Ellwood City. Ellwood City Police Officers Make Donation Towards LHS Field Trip

Mayor Anthony Court and Lt. David Kingston representing the Ellwood City Police Officers make a donation towards an annual field trip for Lincoln High School students, Teacher Mr. Gaibis, U.S. Advanced Placement Government and Politics class. The students will be attending a Pennsylvania Supreme Court session in Philadelphia in March of 2020.  The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania is the highest court in the Commonwealth and the oldest appellate court in the nation. Mayor Proclaims December 7 Joseph Gasper Day

Ellwood City Mayor Anthony J. Court proclaimed December 7, 2019 as “Joseph Gasper Day.” Court presented a proclamation to Gasper, a Pearl Harbor Survivor. Gasper is our area’s last World War II Pearl Harbor Survivor. “Mr. Gasper is a War Hero,” Court said. The mayor was joined in the presentation by Samuel Teolis, a main representative of all veterans in Ellwood City. The 6th and final Beautification Award and gift certificate for 2019 has been handed out. Congratulations to Vivian and Bob Hummel from Woodside Avenue. Fifth Beautification Award Has Been Presented

On July 1, 2019, Mayor Court presented Gary Rozanski of Jefferson Avenue, Ellwood City with the 5th 2019 Beautification Award yard sign and gift certificate. Gary’s property shows the effort and care put into making our community beautiful for everyone to enjoy. There is still one more Award and a gift certificate to be presented by Mayor Court for the 2019 Season. 4th Winner Of The Mayor Beautification Award

On Monday, June 24th Mayor Anthony J. Court presented to Rhonda Norman of Foch Street, Ellwood City with a yard sign and a restaurant gift certificate as the fourth winner of the award this year “Exceptional job by Hogue’s Lawn and Landscape Maintenance,” said Court. “Beautiful!” There are two more winners left to be awarded for this 2019 Season. Mayor Donates Basket to Super Soren Fund Raiser

Mayor Anthony J. Court of Ellwood City was honored to donate a basket for a fundraiser that will take place to support the rehabilitation costs for Soren Flook, a young boy who survived a tragic accident. A Ziti Dinner fundraiser will be held on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at the Wurtemburg Fire Hall from 1p-4p. There will be a huge “basket” auction, and a autographed photo of Steelers’ “Antonio Brown” Door Prize. Festivities will also include “An Enchanted Fairytale Princess” in attendance.
