4th Beautification Award Winner of 2024 Announced

Mayor Anthony J. Court recently awarded the 4th winner of the annual beautification awards to Todd and Lori Streit of 924 Bridge Street. “Beautifully Landscaped and very well maintained,” said Mayor Court in an emailed statement. Todd and Lori was presented with a gift certificate from a local restaurant and a yard sign to display. Nominations are still being taken by Mayor Court by calling him at 724-824-7629 or dropping it off at his office in the Municipal Building. Mayor Court Presents 3rd Beautification Award Of 2024

Mayor Anthony J. Court presented Gina Borselli with the 3rd Beautification Award of 2024. “Congratulations Gina on a job well done,” said Mayor Court in a statement. Gina was presented with a yard sign to display and a gift certificate to a local restaurant. Ready, Set, Spring! Mayor Anthony J. Court will once again be doing the “Beautification Awards Program” for Ellwood City residents. This is the 15th year of this successful program. Mayor Court Proclaims Joseph Connor Roth Day

Ellwood City Mayor Anthony J. Court proclaimed April 4, 2024 as Joseph Connor Roth day in the Borough of Ellwood City. Roth was recognized as being the all-time leading scorer in Ellwood City Boys’ Basketball with 2,109 points in his career. He was a four year starter and helped Ellwood City win the WPIAL Class-3A title in the 2020-21 season. His point total placed him 5th overall in Lawrence County all-time scoring and in the top 30 All-time in the WPIAL. Officer Robert Bird Receives A Commendation For Life Saving Act

Officer Robert Bird received a commendation from Mayor Anthony J. Court for his heroic acts that saved a man’s life. Officer Bird was dispatched to a vehicle that crashed into a residence on Orchard Avenue in Ellwood City last week. Upon arrival he encountered a truck that caught fire. The driver of which was trapped inside suffering from a medical emergency. Congressman Mike Kelly Visits The Borough

Mayor Anthony Court welcomed Congressman Mike Kelly in the borough last Friday. Kelly was in the area and met with the mayor and Sgt. Michael McBride concerning grant funds for police funding. Court and McBride proposed several needs for the department and Congressman Kelly is trying to secure funds through grants.
