Ellwood City Area Historical Society Offering Scholarship Opportunities

The annual Ellwood City Area Historical Society Scholarship submission is quickly approaching. The deadline is Thursday April 7, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. The Ellwood City Area Historical Society will award two $1,500.00 scholarships to two (2) graduating seniors. Graduating seniors from Lincoln High School and Riverside High School who have been accepted to attend a college, Trade School or Performing Arts are eligible. Applications may be received from the High School Student Guidance Counselor or from the Ellwood City History Center. Lincoln High School will celebrate its 65th Annual Homecoming on Friday, October 1st, when the Ellwood City Wolverines host the Neshannock Lancers at Helling Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. The Homecoming Queen’s Court will be announced on the field during pre-game ceremonies that begin at 6:30 p.m., and the 2021 Homecoming Queen will be crowned during halftime. Local Mom Earns Diploma Through Adult Literacy Program Aided by BC3

(New Castle, PA) Katlin Phillippi earned A’s and B’s and C’s at Lincoln High School in Ellwood City and in the health assistant program at the Lawrence County Career and Technical Center in New Castle, then dropped out in her sophomore year. She was the mother of 2-year-old daughter and her boyfriend, Trevor, the father of Sophey, had just been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. After a year hiatus due to COVID-19, the annual Lincoln High School Pie Festival and fall sport festivities returned to Helling Stadium Friday evening. The marching band performed their 2021 pre-game and halftime shows and all fall sports teams were introduced. Time to break out those notebooks and pencils, school is right around the corner. Children in 7th Grade are welcome to attend Lincoln High School’s 7th Grade  Orientation on August 17th at 6:00 p.m. in the Lincoln High School Sabo Auditorium. UPDATES: June 3rd, 2:21 p.m. – According to the Lincoln High School guidance offices, the commencement ceremony schedule for Thursday evening has been cancelled & postponed until Monday, June 7, 2021. The Lincoln High School graduating Class of 2021 will receive their diplomas Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 7:00 p.m.  The commencement will take place at Helling Stadium in Ewing Park.
