Lincoln High School has 120 seniors graduating in the class of 2018. There are eight students who will graduate with high honors. The top eight students listed in alphabetical order: Michael J. Ace, son of Jennifer Ace, participated in the Carpenters Project and was a member of the gifted program, National Honor Society and drama club. BC3 and CCBC Come Together To Offer New Entrepreneurship Program to Ellwood City Area High Schools

On Thursday, May 17, officials from Butler County Community College, Community College of Beaver County, Ellwood City Chamber of Commerce and Lincoln and Riverside high schools had an announcing ceremony to kick off the RIV-ELL Entrepreneurship Program. The RIV-ELL Entrepreneurship Program is an enterprising partnership program between businesses, schools, colleges, service clubs and foundations in Ellwood City. Ten Lincoln and Riverside high school seniors this fall will be the first to capitalize on the new program. 2018 Historical Society Scholarship Awards Announced

The Ellwood City Area Historical Society will award the Robert and Janice Barensfeld Scholarships of $1,500.00 each to two (2) graduating seniors in 2018 who have been accepted into an institution of higher learning. Art Students Prepare Wreaths for Senior Citizens

To kick off the giving season, senior citizens in two local nursing homes will be receiving hand crafted wreaths early in December. Progressive Home Health, a Monaca based home health care agency serving senior citizens in the local counties, has teamed up with the art students at Lincoln High School to create wreaths to give to local elderly patients for Christmas. Meet the Cast Part 1: Little Woman

Lincoln High School will be performing the classic tale, Little Woman as their musical this year. According to Laura Adam, the Musical Director, the musical will showcase the talent of the students who have dedicated a lot of time and energy to their roles. “We start a workshop in June with 3-4 different shows and choose the one that best suits the students. Lincoln Class of 1954 Monthly Meeting

Pudue LaCava hosted the Lincoln Class of 1954 “Nite at the Movies” committee wrap-up meeting on Thursday Auagust 18 at 1p.m. at her Mt. Vernon Drive home. The session began with lunch provided by the committee members and served by Ilene Gardner and LaCava. Dessert featured Gardner’s homemade pies in honor of the successful class event. Paul Abraham and James Spielvogel opened the business session. Helling Stadium Fallen Pole Causes Severe Damage

Proceeding a storm with 60mph winds Friday evening, during a delayed football game at Helling Stadium a light pole at the stadium fell, struck two people, and damaged areas of the field and a Noga Ambulance. According to recent reports, 13-year-old Jaidyn Le’Viere, a junior cheerleading coach entering eight grade at Lincoln Junior-Senior High School, sustained injuries including lacerations in her back and a broken hip. Rosalindo Morales Jr., a 23-year-old Ellwood City native, reigned champion in his first professional boxing match on Saturday, August 12 at the Rivers Casino, against opponent Adam Young of Memphis, Tennessee. He won all four rounds unanimously against Young and said he couldn’t have done it without all the local support. “The fight was incredible and the support I had from everyone from Ellwood was truly amazing and I couldn’t have done it without them,” Morales stated.
