LHS Students Compete At Slippery Rock University World Language Competition

SLIPPERY ROCK PA  – This past week, 11 students from French and Spanish classes attended Slippery Rock University’s annual World Language Competition. Students competed against students from a dozen area schools. The tests covered several aspects of language learning including vocabulary, grammar, cultural and geography. Adriana Gonzalez was awarded 3rd place in the Spanish 3 group. Lincoln High School Launching Another Educational Trip to Costa Rica

ELLWOOD CITY, PA – Lincoln High School will hold an informational meeting about an educational trip to Costa Rica scheduled in 2021 in the Lincoln Library on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at 6:30 pm. Ellwood Area School District teachers will be taking another highly popular trip to Costa Rica during June of 2021. Last summer, eleven students traveled to the world capital of ecotourism to explore all that the small Central American Country has to offer. Shirts Now Available For ‘Pink Out’ Challenge

T-shirts are available at Ellwood City, Riverside, Beaver Falls, and Shenango schools and the non-profit Club Hope Foundation for a challenge to raise money for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. “The Pink Out Challenge this year is between Ellwood City, Riverside, Shenango and Beaver Falls,” said Cara Atkinson, found of Club Hope Foundation. High School Football Season Passes Now On Sale

Football season passes for our two great, local high school football teams are now on sale! For Ellwood City, tickets are on sale in the main office at Lincoln High School. (six homes games) Adult $20.00, Student $5.00, Super Fan student passes are $10.00 this pass will get the student into all athletic events for this school year. Senior citizen passes are also available in the main office. For Riverside, all season tickets are sold at the gate the night of the first game. PHOTOS: Annual Lincoln High School Pie Festival

With the chance of inclement weather in the forecast Thursday evening, the annual Lincoln High School Pie Festival was moved indoors to the Lincoln High School gymnasium.  The move did not impact the band who entertained those in attendance with tunes to help roll out the 2019-20 school year while fall sports teams were introduced. The celebration and introductions were coupled with hundreds of custom pies baked and donated by Debbie’s Delicious Desserts.  All proceeds benefited the Lincoln High School Marching Blue Band.


RECAP: Lincoln High School Class of ’54 Celebrates With A 65-Year Reunion

The sign “Welcome Class of ’54’ Celebrating 65 years” in blue and white decorations greeted arrivals at the Connoquenessing Country Club for the “Picnic on the Patio” event on Saturday, August 17. Class members and guests were greeted by Ilene Gardner, Pudue LaCava, Herman D’Amico and James Gillespie at the registration desk. Viewing the picture memorial to the 114 deceased class members was followed by individual pictures taken by Gardner at the wall mural depicting the full frontal of Lincoln High School. Lagoon, Koscinski Hired as Armed Police Officers for Ellwood City Schools

The Ellwood City Area School Board hired two armed school police officers for the 2019-2020 school year. Robert Lagoon of Zelienople and Brad Koscinski of Grove City were announced as the first armed officers who will serve the school district thanks to a $156,400 grant provided by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency. The grant will allow the district to employ the two officers for two years.
