Ellwood City Memorial Swimming Pool Summer Float Nights Set To Begin Saturday

The first of three, free community Summer Float Nights at the Ellwood City Memorial Swimming Pool will take place on Saturday, June 17th with the film Finding Nemo shown. COVID-19 Friendly Community Nights

This weekend and into the week, two organizations have decided to host COVID-19 friendly community night events. On Friday, July 24, there will be an outdoor movie night and concert hosted at the Ewing Park Stage. Food will be served at 7:00 and on the menu is meatball sandwiches, penne, salad, deserts, and drinks. To meet CDC requirements for food, all those serving will be masked and gloved. At 7:30 a concert will be held, playing worship music similar to what listeners here on K-LOVE, and finally at 9:00 the move “The Sandlot” will be played in its G-rated form…

Ellwood City Public Pool Opens Friday

With the summer in full swing, residents all have one place on their mind — Veterans Memorial Swimming Pool. The pool will be opening Friday, June 12 from noon – 7 p.m, seven days a week. Masks will be required entering and inside the locker room facilities within the building. Patrons temperature will be checked prior to entering and the 6′ social distancing rule will still be followed. Season passes will be offered to Residents and Non-residents, however daily passes will only be offered to borough residents. Adult Dance Party/Karaoke Night to Make Waves at Ewing Park Pool

Although Councilwoman Marilyn Mancini doesn’t plan to sing at the Adult Dance Party/Karaoke Night, she invites everyone to stop by and say hello at the gate. Mancini said this Adult Dance Party is special because it will feature Karaoke this time. “This will be the last Adult Dance party at the pool for this summer and we are making it a karaoke night!” she said. “The DJ is Frank Pezzi—a Ellwood City resident.
