COVID-19 Friendly Community Nights

This weekend and into the week, two organizations have decided to host COVID-19 friendly community night events.

On Friday, July 24, there will be an outdoor movie night and concert hosted at the Ewing Park Stage.

Food will be served at 7:00 and on the menu is meatball sandwiches, penne, salad, deserts, and drinks. To meet CDC requirements for food, all those serving will be masked and gloved. At 7:30 a concert will be held, playing worship music similar to what listeners here on K-LOVE, and finally at 9:00 the move “The Sandlot” will be played in its G-rated form to make it more family friendly.

The event will take place rain or shine and it is completely free to attend. All that is asked is that you bring a mask for the concert and movie portion and feel free to bring lawn chairs and or blankets to spread out. For more information, check the Outdoor Movie Night website or view the Facebook Event Page. The event is being hosted by The Warehouse – Cornerstone Student Ministries.

Following, on Monday, July 27 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, there will be an adult dance at the Ewing Park Pool. The cost is $5 a person and there will be music and karaoke all night. Everyone is invited to swim, dance, listen, or sing to music from the 50s, 60s, and 70s. It’ll be DJ-ed by DJ Franco and the event is sponsored by the Ellwood City Borough Council Parks and Recreation committee.
