Ellwood City held its annual Light Up Night in downtown Ellwood City on Friday with the official lighting of the Christmas tree and ensuing fireworks display. After a year hiatus, the event returned with various activities for families and vendors set up on Lawrence Avenue. A horse-drawn sleigh, a local singer, a DJ and a brass quintet playing Christmas carols all welcomed visitors for Ellwood City and the surrounding communities who descended on Lawrence Avenue for the evening. REMINDER: Local Holiday Events This Weekend!

Several holiday related events are schedule to take place this weekend to kick-off December and the holiday season. First, and on Friday, December 3rd beginning at 5:30 p.m., Ellwood City will be holding its annual Light Up Night in downtown Ellwood City.  The official lighting of the Christmas tree will take place at 6:00 p.m. with fireworks afterward. Chamber Hosting Virtual Ugly Sweater 5K Fun Run

If you’ve always dreamed of doing a 5K but felt intimidated, this is your time. The Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce is holding its first-ever Ugly Sweater 5K Fun Run virtually. Participants can run, walk, swim, treadmill, or bike from the location of their choice. It’s freedom and fun at your own pace. With Covid-19 cases rising, the Ellwood City Area Chamber of Commerce was tasked to think outside of the box as how to continue the celebration of Christmas.
