The Ellwood City Community Health Foundation (ECCHF) will issue scholarships each year to individuals who enroll in higher education to pursue a career in the medical field. The individual needs to be a resident of either Ellwood City, Lawrence County, or Beaver County, Pennsylvania. Each candidate must demonstrate how their career in the medical field will improve, foster, promote, and enhance the quality of life and health for the general public of Ellwood City, Lawrence County, or Beaver County, Pennsylvania. Erin Jenna Lechner is the recipient of the first scholarship given by Ellwood City Community Health Foundation. Erin is a graduate of Lincoln High School in 2018, Grove City College in 2022, and is now enrolled in Chatham University’s Physician Assistant Studies. Erin plans to work in the Beaver/Lawrence/Butler County area after she is a certified Physician Assistant. In March 2023, the Ellwood City Community Health Foundation scholarship application for 2023-2024 will be available on their website www.ellwoodcitychf.org.
