Lincoln High School Class of 1957 Set To Meet October 19

The 1957 Class of Lincoln High School will meet for lunch on Wednesday, October 19th, at Vinny’s Restaurant on Beaver Avenue in Ellwood City. Reservations are due by Monday, October 10th, and can be made by a phone call or text to Nancy Pietrandrea at 724-622-5992. Members and guests will meet at noon, eat around 1:00 p.m. and leave by 4:00 p.m. The number of reservations made will determine if lunch orders will be from the regular menu or if there will be a buffet.

Mason Lechner and Rayden “R.J.” Wilson are the first recipients of a scholarship established this year by the Lincoln High School Class of 1957. Each was awarded $1,000 to help them continue their education in a two-year program. Mason is now taking classes at New Castle School of Trades where he plans to earn a degree in electrical technologies. R.J, is going to Butler County Community College for a degree in exercise science and plans to pursue a doctorate in physical therapy. McCommons Wins LHS Class of ’57 Scholarship Competition

Molly McCommons was the top winner in the Lincoln High School Class of 1957 scholarship competition. She won the $5.000 scholarship and the $500 award for writing the best essay. Molly, daughter of Kathy McCommons of Wood St., will continue her education at Grove City College where she will “follow my passion for history and political science” in preparation for law school. Her goal is to be a child advocacy lawyer and possibly run for political office. Class of ’57 To Hold Informational Luncheon

The Lincoln High School Class of 1957 will hold an informal gathering and luncheon Monday, August 23, at Vinny’s Restaurant on Beaver Ave. in Ellwood City. Classmates and guests will gather beginning at noon.  A buffet, at $30.00 per person, will follow. LHS Class of ’57 Announces Second Scholarship Opportunity

A second scholarship, worth $2,000, will be offered this year, in addition to the $5,000 scholarship and $500 essay award given by the 1957 Lincoln High School graduating class. The $2,000 award is designated for a 2021 Lincoln High School graduate who will continue his or her education for two years or less at a trade school, community college, nursing or cosmetology program or similar school. LHS Class of ’57 Awards Two Scholarships

Two Lincoln High School students received scholarships from the Lincoln High School Class of 1957. Hannah Rose Keally is this year’s recipient of the $5,000 scholarship given by the Lincoln High School Class of 1957 while Levi Alexander Smith received the $500 best essay award from the Class of ’57. Hannah is majoring in fashion design in the College of Arts at Kent State University which gave her a president’s achievement award and an honors distinction award. LHS Class of 1957 Offering Scholarship Opportunity To Seniors

Lincoln High School seniors who plan to continue their education can apply for a $5,000 scholarship and $500 essay award that will be given by the LHS Class of 1957. Applications are available at the school guidance office where they must be submitted by April 1, 2019. Names of winners will be revealed at the annual awards assembly in May. This will be the 11th year for the scholarship which was proposed at the ’57 class’ 60th anniversary reunion in July 2007 by its vice president, James Ammeen.
