Significant progress has been made along the Pennsylvania Turnpike (PA Turnpike) as the Beaver River Bridge Replacement Project is more than halfway completed. The $269 million project, which began in December 2022, constructs two new bridges to the north of the current bridge and expands the roadway from two to three lanes in each direction, adding widened shoulders and median. Country Club Bridge Replacement Project To Begin October 2025

The Route 65 Country Club Bridge Replacement project over Connoquenessing Creek will begin in October 2025 in North Sewickley and Franklin Townships, Beaver County. Improvements include removal of the existing poor condition three-span non-composite steel multigirder structure built in 1976, construction of a two-span steel plate girder bridge using Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) techniques, and full depth pavement reconstruction along approximately 850 feet of SR 65 and 180 feet of SR 1006 (Mercer Road). Route 288 Bridge Replacement Project Progress

With many focused on the pending status and re-opening of the Koppel Bridge, another local bridge replacement is taking place in Wayne Township and will have forthcoming lane restrictions and brief detour later this month. Construction crews are currently going through the demolition process of the former Koppel Bridge, removing the concrete deck and barrier, as part of the ongoing Koppel Bridge project that has forced the closure of the former Koppel Bridge, according to a PennDOT project manager this week.
