Wampum American Legion Offering An All-You-Can-Eat Breakfast

The Wampum American Legion is starting it’s all-you-can-eat Breakfast event again on Saturday, February 18th from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. The event is scheduled to take place at the Legion club located at 436 Beaver Street, Wampum, PA 16157. The menu features scrambled eggs, home fries, french toast, sausage, biscuits & gravy, bacon, toast, coffee, tea and orange juice. Costs for the breakfast are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children five years and younger. “We appreciate your continued support of the Wampum American Legion,” says Wampum Auxilary Post 749 President, Marsha Moore.


Ellwood City Wolves Den Honors American Legion Post 157

The Ellwood City Wolves Den II met on Wednesday, September 14th and honored American Legion Post 157 with their Pro Bono Publico Award. American Legion Post 157 was instrumental in bringing the half size replica of the Vietnam War Memorial, “The Moving Wall”, back to Ellwood City on August 18 through August 21, 2022. After a summer break, the Wampum American Legion Post 749 will be hosting its next All You Can Eat Breakfast on Saturday, September 17th. The group took a break in July and August and are back to serving breakfast for the community. September’s breakfast will be hosted at the Wampum American Legion Club, 436 Beaver Street, Wampum, PA. The breakfast is scheduled to take place from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and will feature scrambled eggs, hash browns, french toast, sausage, biscuits and gravy, bacon, and toast. American Legion & Military Veterans Honor Guard To Host Military Funeral Service

The Ellwood City American Legion Post 157 and The Beaver and Lawrence Counties Military Veterans Honor Guard will host a military funeral service for those Ellwood City area veterans, who because of the pandemic were unable to have the service at their funeral. The program will be held at the Folino Shelter in Ewing Park, Ellwood City on Sunday, September 19th at 2:00 PM. The service will include reading the names of the deceased veterans, the playing of taps and firing of rifles. Notification has been sent to veterans’ families inviting them to attend. Victory Over Japan Day, also known as VJ Day, and its 75-year anniversary was celebrated this week. Ellwood City Mayor Anthony Court & WW II Veterans from Ellwood City and American Legion Post #157, along with Lawrence County and Beaver County Honor Guards celebrated VJ Day at the American Legion Park. American Legion Post 157 will be having a ceremony commemorating VJ Day (Victory over Japan). The event will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Legion Park in Ellwood City.
