74th Anniversary of ‘VJ Day’ Honored

The week, Mayor Anthony Court and World War II Veteran Samuel Teolis placed a wreath in Ellwood City’s Legion park commentating the 74th Anniversary of VJ Day (Victory over Japan) which is acknowledged on either August 14th or 15th as the anniversary ending of World War II. American Legion Post 157 To Host Summer Picnic

America Legion Post 157 will host a summer picnic for members, their families, and guests at 1:00 pm, August 25th at the Ellwood-Wampum Rod & Gun Club, located at 2406 Wampum Road. Any veterans, even if they are not members, are welcome to attend. Reservations are needed by August 13 by calling Joeseph Fisher at 724-758-6277 or Brandon Fisher at 724-971-9247. Members are asked to bring a side dish to share. Hot dogs, hamburgers, drinks, and table service are provided. Regular meetings of the post are 7:30 pm on the second Thursday of each month.
