Deborah L. Straley, 70, of Monaca, passed away on Saturday, April 27th, 2024 at Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley Medical Center in Beaver. Deborah was born in Ellwood City on July 18th, 1953 to Melvin T. and Virginia (Raman) Straley. She enjoyed working puzzles and doing arts and crafts. Riverside Lions Club Monthly Update

The Riverside Lions Club had a busy past few weeks hosting events, providing support, and earning awards. The month of February started the Lions Club off with the Math 24 competition. The Riverside club spearheads this event and is supported by all the Lions clubs in Beaver County and Pizza Joes. This year’s event was held at the New Brighton High School, with approximately 150 students participating. $600M Settlement Reached By Norfolk Southern Related To East Palestine Train Derailment

HARRISBURG – In the wake of the recent $600 million settlement reached by Norfolk Southern in its class-action lawsuit related to its train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, last year, state Sens. Mr. Edward L. Annarumo, 68, of Norwalk, Ohio passed away on Sunday, March 17th, 2024 at the Cleveland Metro Health Medical Center. Edward was born in Ellwood City on December 20th, 1955 to the late Anthony Annarumo and Eleanor (Greco) Lively. He had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1974. Mr. George Tirlea, Jr., 88, of Ellwood City passed away on Thursday, February 15th, 2024 at the Heritage Valley Medical Center in Beaver. Mr. Tirlea was born in Ellwood City on March 25th, 1935 the son of the late George and Anna (Lankarjan) Tirlea, Sr.. Local Fire, EMS Companies Receive Much-Needed State Grants

Grant funding will be coming to several first responder companies in the 9th Legislative District under a program administered by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner (OSFC) within the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA), according to Representatives Marla Brown (R-Lawrence) and Aaron Bernstine (R-Butler/Lawrence).
