Mary L. Kalcevic, 101, of Ellport, passed away at Allegheny Health System, Wexford, on Monday, February 7, 2022. Born in Beadling, Allegheny County on April 14, 1920, Mary was the daughter of the late Anthony and Marguerite Leymarie.  Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Louis V. Kalcevic.  He passed away on March 30, 1990. Mary worked a US Steel during World War II and later worked at Montgomery Wards in Ellwood City.  She was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish and worked in the school cafeteria.  Mary was a member of the Christian Mothers and enjoyed working in the kitchen…

Lewis Wetzel (Lew) Shirey, 93, passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 27th, 2022, in Poland, Ohio. Lew was born in Ellwood City, PA to Harry Sebastian Shirey and Tena Matilda (Tillie) Powell. He met his childhood sweetheart, Margaret (Peggy) Adams, at an eighth-grade skating party. They remained a couple throughout high school and college, married in 1951 and went on to celebrate over 70 years in matrimony. Mr. Howard M. Bentel, 79, of North Sewickley Township passed away on Wednesday, February 2nd, 2022 at his residence. Howard was born on May 15th, 1942 in Ellwood City to the late Howard J. and Elois (Hoover) Bentel. He is a member of the Lincoln High School class of 1961. Howard enlisted with the United States Air Force on January 18th, 1962 and served until his discharge on January 17th, 1968. Sharon M. Lewis, 65, of Ellport, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022 at UPMC Jameson. Born in Ellwood City on June 21, 1956, Sharon was the daughter of the late Floyd and Erma Twentier Wolfe.  She married Paul Lewis on May 1, 2005.  Sharon retired from McGuire Home, where she worked as a caregiver.  She loved the water, loved swimming and fishing, but most of all loved spending time with her grandchildren.
