Gladys M. Parker, 95, of Old Rt. 18, Wampum passed away Monday, September 5, 2016 at the Ellwood City Hospital following a brief illness. Born October 3, 1920 in Wampum, she was the daughter of the late Charles Herman and Nina James Hall. She was married in April of 1942 to Leroy S. Parker who passed away in 1971. Gladys graduated as the valedictorian of the Class of 1938 at Wampum High School. While in high school she was a member of the basketball team. Mr. John Steele Smith, 89, of New Brighton passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2016 in the Providence Care Center in Beaver Falls, Pa. Mr. Smith was born on November 14, 1926 to the late Melvin and Camella Steele Smith. John enlisted with the U.S. Navy and served from 1944 to 1946 as a Yeoman in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. John had worked at Westinghouse Corporation for 35 years. Terry E Wisbith, 69, of Od Route 18, Wampum died Monday, September 5, 2016 at the VMC – Oakland Hospital following a brief illness. Born June 11, 1947 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Edward and Mary L. Petruchik Wisbith. He was married for 45 years to Jeanette Sellers Wisbith who survives. Terry graduated from Lincoln High School in 1965. He served in the Navy as a Machinist Mate 3rd Class aboard the USS Sampson from 1966-1970. William G. Krueger, 81, of Newport Rd., Wampum (New Beaver Boro) passed away Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Heritage Valley – Beaver Hospital following an extended illness. Born June 13, 1935 in New Castle, he was the son of the late Charles J. Krueger and the late Sarah Williams Krueger Binger. He was married for 60 years to Mary Alice Schneider Krueger who survives. Hazel “Betty” Walton Vogel, 73, formerly of Portersville passed away unexpectedly Thursday, September 1, 2016 at her residence in Emporium, PA. Born December 15, 1942 in Castlewood, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ellen Williams Walton. Betty worked for the United States Postal Service for 25 years, retiring as the Postmaster of Austin, PA. She enjoyed traveling with her companion, Robert McClymonds, living six months in Emporium and the other six months in Fruitland Park, Florida. She will truly be missed by her family.
