Clara C. Armstrong, 85, of Grant Ave., Butler (Oakland Twp.) went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016 from the VNA Hospice following a short illness. Born April 13, 1930 in Oakland Twp.,she was the daughter of the late Orie and Florence McMillen Mottern. She was married for 64 years to Clair Armstrong who survives. Clara formerly was employed at Penn Champ in East Butler for several years. She was an active member of the Faith Fellowship Alliance Church where she arranged the Sunday flower arrangement for 25 years. She enjoyed gardening, both flower and vegetable….

Francis C. Piper, Sr., 89, formerly of Franklin Twp. passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016 in the Mill Creek Community Hospital in Erie. Francis was born on March 2, 1927 in Ellwood City to the late Joseph C. and Frances Fox Piper. He had attended Lincoln High School before joining the U.S. Navy on Jan. 11, 1945. He served with the 28th and 125th NCB until his discharge on June 17, 1946. Barbara M. Walker, 80, of Longvue Ave. Ellwood City (North Sewickley Twp.) passed away Monday, Feb. 15, 2016 at Cranberry Place following an extended battle with diabetes. Andrew J. Aniceti, Sr., 92, formerly of Ellwood City passed away on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016 in the Wexford House. Andy was born on June 9, 1923 in New Castle to the late Giovanni and Camille Peltier Aniceti. At the age of 13, Andy joined the Civilian Conservation Corps, a New Deal program that allowed teenagers to work on public related projects.
