Very Reverend Father John G. Sidor, 94, of Ellwood City passed away on Monday, July, 3rd, 2023 at Cranberry Place in Cranberry Twp. Father Sidor was born on July 28th, 1928 in Nizny Orlik-Bardejov, Slovak the son of the late George and Anna (Gergelova) Sidor. Father John graduated from the Orthodox Theological Seminary in Presov, Slovakia earning a Masters in Divinity. He worked as Revizor (Controller) in Slovakia. Arthur F. Lowrie III, 61, of Ellwood City passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, July 1st, 2023. Arthur was born on January 11th, 1962 in Pittsburgh to Arthur F. and Joanne (Griffin) Lowrie Jr.. Artie attended Lincoln High School and The Culinary Institute of Pittsburgh, which included a trip to Paris. He loved the cellars where the cheeses were made. He worked for Lowrie’s Gas Station in Pittsburgh, Slippery Rock University in the kitchens, and from 1997 to 2020 at Chrystal Springs (formerly Polar Water) sanitizing the bottles that hold the water. Arthur P. “Art” Pistachio, 65, of New Castle passed away Friday, June 30, 2023 at UPMC – Jameson Hospital following a two-year courageous battle with cancer. Born November 12, 1957 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Samuel and Lucy Greco Pistachio. Art had graduated from Lincoln High School in 1976. Following graduation, he served in the US Army from 1976-1981. He worked at Rockwell and then at SSI Welding. Some of Art’s interests were fishing, camping, and working in the garage. Joan Leo, 60, of Ellport, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2023 in her residence following a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Born on November 18, 1962 in Mt. Lebanon, Joan was the daughter of the late Jim and Rosalie Vaglia Wold.  She retired from Andritz Herr-Voss Stamco as an accounting supervisor after 28 years.  Joan was an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan.  She enjoyed camping, dancing and walking.  She absolutely loved spending time with her grandchildren. David L. Cunningham, 74, of Ellport passed away Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at the Butler Memorial Hospital. Although in ill health, death was unexpected.
