Russell A. Carr, 60, of Wampum passed away Friday, September 30, 2016 at the VNA Hospice in Butler following a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born January 7, 1956 in New Brighton, he was the son of the late Vincent and Donna J. Moore Carr. Russell graduated in 1974 from VoTech HIgh School. Following graduation, he worked in the Painter’s Union. For the past 28 years, Russell worked as a lineman for Penn Power. An avid outdoorsman, Russell enjoyed hunting. Martin C. Zajac, 90, of Allen Court, Wampum passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at his residence. Born August 14, 1926 in Gallitzin, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Bertha Olshefka Zajac. He was married for 62 years to Irene Rafacz Zajac who survives. Marty retired in 1986 from Babcox and Wilcox. He was a member for over 50 years of St. Monica Church in Wampum, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society. Donald  Loyal  Hockenberry,  88, of  Harpers Ferry Road, Ellwood City (North Sewickley Twp), passed away peacefully at his home on  Thursday  morning, September 29 2016. He was born in Frisco (Franklin Twp, Beaver Co.) on January 16 1928 to the late Loyal E. and Ethel G. McCartney Hockenberry.
