Mary E. “Betsy” Kriegisch, 57, of Brown Rd., Ellwood City passed away Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at UPMC Mercy Hospital. Although in ill health, her death was unexpected. Born December 7, 1960 in Rochester, she was the daughter of the late Terrance Laykish and Donna McGovern Laykish Taormina of Brighton Twp. She was married for 35 years to Randall J. Kriegisch who survives. Betsy graduated from Rochester High School in 1979. She formerly had worked at Giant Eagle, McDonalds, and had been a lunch monitor at Riverside School District. Wayne S. McAnlis, 93

Wayne S. McAnlis, 93, of New Galilee passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the Golden Hill Nursing Center in New Castle following an extended illness. Born August 29, 1924 in New Galilee, he was the son of the late William S. and Mae Jenkins McAnlis. He was married for 67 years to Lois Vance McAnlis who survives. Wayne graduated from Mt. Jackson High School. He retired in 1985 from Babcock and Wilcox where he was an equipment operator. Wayne was also a lifetime farmer. Thomas L. Goebel, 75, of Wayne Twp. passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, February 18, 2018 following a brief battle with leukemia. Born December 26, 1942 in Wayne Twp., he was the son of the late Gus and Mabel Lechner Goebel. Tom was married for 52 years to Karen Chappell Goebel who survives. He retired as a crane man from Babcock and Wilcox after 25 years of services. He then drove school bus for 24 years. Keaira Cunningham, 16, of Deemer Avenue, Ellport passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at the Ellwood City Medical Center. Born in Brighton Township on May 22, 2001 Keaira was the daughter of Dana Locke of New Castle and the late Alan B. Mary Beth Dunning, 57 of Ellwood City passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 in West Penn Hospital following a courageous battle with Leukemia. Jeffrey A. Linville, 58 of Line Avenue, Ellwood City passed away in Koppel on Thursday, February 8, 2018. Born in Ellwood City on November 3, 1959, Jeffrey was the son of Lemuel and Janie Courson Linville of Ellwood City.  He is also survived by his companion, Amanda D’Amico of Koppel and his two brothers, Randy (Krista) Linville of New Cumberland, PA and Gregg (Jody) Linville of Ellwood City. Charles F. DeFonde, 65, of North Sewickley Twp. passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Heritage Valley Medical Center. Jean Cunningham Wick, 96

Jean Morrow Cunningham Wick, 96,  was born on Foch Street in the Ewing Park section of Ellwood City on May 11, 1921 to parents Carrie Burket Morrow and Charles King Morrow.  Shortly after her birth, her father, C.K. Morrow, built the house in Ewing Park where she grew up. Jean spent her final years there until health required a move to the Trinity Oaks Care Center in Beaver,  where she passed away on Saturday morning, February 10 2018.  That  nearly one hundred year old house in Ewing Park, built by her father, is still occupied by members of her family….
