Ellwood City’s last Pearl Harbor Survivor, Staff Sgt Joseph Michael Gasper passed away in his home on December 20, 2020. Joe, the youngest of three children from Hungarian immigrants Michael Gasper and Mary (Pollack) Gasper, was born April 23, 1918 in Zelienople PA. As a teen growing up during the Great Depression, he left home after his mother died to help support his family. He worked with the Ringling Bros Circus and then became a part of Franklin Roosevelt’s fledgling Civilian Conservation Corps. He sent money home every month to his family. Patricia Stiles Viccari, 82, of Ellwood City, wishing to be with her husband, passed away at UPMC Passavant McCandless on Saturday, December 19, 2020. Born in Ellwood City on October 22, 1938 the daughter of the late William and Vivian Tate Stiles.  She married Bobby Viccari on February 8, 1958, devoted to each other, and after almost 63 years of marriage, they passed away only two days apart.  She enjoyed baking and cooking for her family, especially for her grandchildren.  She was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish. Nick R. “Bobby” Viccari, 83, of Ellwood City passed away at UPMC Passavant McCandless on Thursday, December 17, 2020. Born in Ellwood City on January 23, 1937, Bobby was the son of the late Damiano and Bridgida Lupiano Viccari.  He is survived by his wife, the former Patricia Stiles whom he married on February 8, 1958.  Bobby worked as a millwright at Mathews Conveyor and later worked at the Housing Authority of Beaver Co.  Bobby was a member of Holy Redeemer Parish and the Zelienople Sportsmen’s Club. Born on December 31, 1963 in New Castle, David is the son of Priscilla Snezic Tomon of Wayne Township and the late John M. Mrs. Helen M. Fiori, 93, of Ellwood City passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at her residence. Mrs. Fiori was born on April 29, 1927 in Ellwood City to the late Joseph and Mary Assunta (Innocent) Frisk. She had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1944, and from Beauty School in Pittsburgh.
