Donald L. Caplinger, 69 of Ellwood City passed away on Friday, December 3, 2021 at UPMC Jameson. Born in New Brighton on April 22, 1952, Donald was the son of the late Floyd and Mildred Pepsic Caplinger.  Donald had retired as a mechanic at Sim’s Lanes in Koppel.  An avid Pittsburgh Penguin, Steeler and Pirate fan, Don also enjoyed fishing, gardening and tinkering around the house. Frederick A. “Mac” McAnallen, 73, of Ellport, passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at UPMC McCandless, just 9 days after his wife, Leslie. Born in Ellwood City on December 17, 1947, Mac was the son of the late William and Marjorie Robson McAnallen.  He and his wife, Leslie were only 4 days shy of their 45th anniversary when she preceded him in death on November 23, 2021.  A Veteran of the US Navy, Mac served during the Vietnam War.  He retired from the hotel industry in Las Vegas where he worked in everything from management to security.  Mac and…

Curtis C. Fitzgerald, 66, of Beaver Falls passed away on Tuesday, November 30, 2021. Curt was born in Ellwood City on May 7, 1955 to the late Earnest and Mary (Crespo) Fitzgerald. He had graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1973. He had worked at the Babcock & Wilcox Steel Mill in Beaver Falls, Castellani Construction with his father-in-law Sam Castellani, Heateck, and Inmetco. Joseph Francis Valerian Jaeger, 96, of Hermitage, passed away peacefully at home on November 29, 2021 with family at his side. Born March 16, 1925 in Lyons, IL, he was one of seven children born to Joseph and Frances (Rezabek) Jaeger. Both his parents passed suddenly. Joseph and his brother Jerry were raised at St. Joseph’s orphanage near Chicago while his other siblings were adopted. Joseph’s religious upbringing in the orphanage was a core influence that led him to pursue priesthood studies at St. Procopius College. Christine E. Costello, 61, of Conneaut Lake passed away at her residence on Saturday, November 20th, 2021. Christine was born in Wndber, PA to the late Leonard Stefanick and Nancy L. (Berkebile) Stefanick on July 6, 1960. She had graduated from Mentor High School. Christine served with the United States Airforce. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service at the Beaver Falls and Coraopolis Post Offices. She is a member of the Watson Run Women’s Club in Meadville. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, and cooking. Leslie Gail McAnallen, 70, of Ellport, passed away on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at UPMC Passavant in McCandless Township. Born in Brea California on August 4, 1951, Leslie was the daughter of Anita VanDyke Poland of Post Falls, Idaho and the late Allen Poland.  Leslie is survived by her husband, Frederick “Mac” McAnallen whom she married on November 27, 1976.  She had worked as a criminal docket clerk for the U.S. Federal Court in Nevada.
